Kenneth Kimbrough, DVM

Growing up in Longview as the son and grandson of dairy farmers, Dr. Kenneth Kimbrough received an early education in animal care. His experiences included feeding pigs, calves, and chickens, collecting eggs and caring for his own horse. While earning his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University, Dr. Kimbrough applied his knowledge of animals and worked for the College of Veterinary Medicine for associated departments such as the anatomy department, public health department and physiology department. Dr. Kimbrough graduated in 1972 with his bachelor's degree in animal science, biomedical science and veterinary science before moving on to veterinary school at Texas A&M Veterinary College. His professional interests include surgery, dermatology and ultrasound.

Dr. Kimbrough recalls his most memorable events as being those that have an amusing element to them. There was the time when a client asked him to deskunk a skunk and his clinic smelled for weeks, or when he performed a C-Section on an English bulldog only to find she had 14 puppies to whelp. "I didn't think they would ever quit coming," he said.

Dr. Kimbrough is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the East Texas Veterinary Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association by which the hospital is also accredited.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Kimbrough enjoys serving his community and has participated with Junior Achievement, Globe Scholar activities, Boy Scouts of America, and has been a member of his local Rotary Club, 32 Degree Masons, the Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederates, and the Mobberly Baptist Church. He shares his days with his wife, Glenda Kay (Gindy) who owned and operated Gindy's Pet Express grooming business next door to the hospital. When not at the Animal Hospital in Longview, TX, they like to spend time together with their children, grandchildren and pets. Dr. Kimbrough stays active by fishing, water skiing, boating, hunting, playing sports, and raising Angus cattle and horses.
