In Loving Memory, We Cherish These Pets
On June 9th, 2015, Kimbrough Animal Hospital had a horrible tragedy. We had a fire that consumed not only our building, but the lives of 38 precious pets. The lives of many families, including Kimbrough staff, was forever changed. We were very fortunate to have 2 survivors from the same family, Daisy & Roscoe Brewer.
We cannot begin to describe the grief we feel over the loss of life involved in this tragedy, nor can we articulate our appreciation for the support we have received from the community during this extraordinarily difficult time. Here are the companions we would like to memorialize from that tragic day.
Outdoor Pet Memorial
Outside of our facility, we have built an area to help preserve and honor the memory of these pets. The fountain pictured above is meant to symbolize our transition from old to new, as the bricks used in its construction were salvaged from our old building. The names of the pets that were lost in the fire on June 9th, 2015, have been forever memorialized on the fountain's plaque. We also are reminded of our beloved clinic cats, Olive and Etta, by their bronze statues at the base of our memorial fountain. Come visit our memorial and share a moment of silence for these losses.
